If anything else, Barack Obama’s weekly YouTube addresses sends a message that the President-Elect is on the job — Which is the topic of this week’s address: Jobs.
I’m glad they found another set and backdrop. Not quite the Oval Office….not yet. But the “Mad Men” wood paneling in the first video was just a tad tooooo retro for my taste 🙂
You know, I kind of regret that I didn’t listen to the President’s weekly radio address. Somehow I thought it was more about tradition and ceremony than policy. Like the national tree lighting at the White House. My bad. But then there was never any big promotion campaign or a heads up on the radio schedule for me to find it. What channel was it on? FM? AM? XM? Sirus? I do make a point to tune in to the State of the Union address. But now it’s a new day. It’s a YouTube day. I know when it’s time for the President to talk, I’ll get the ping in my email. The following is the first weekly address by The President-Elect Barack Obama. Pull your chair up to the digital fireside.
Yesterday Barack Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, died peacefully in her sleep in her home in Hawaii. Mrs. Dunham was 86 years old. She did cast an absentee ballot before her death and it will be counted in Hawaii. [You go girl!] She joins the ancestors to guide Barack and the rest of us through the hours and days ahead.
The Eclectique Citizen is on the road today in the home of my ancestors–northern Virginia–helping voters get to the polls. Being that my family goes back 6+ generations in Virginia (my maternal to the Revolutionary War; my paternal before Jamestown), I’m Fired Up! and Ready to Go! 90,000 turned out to hear Barack in Manassas last night.
So it’s on us now. VOTE y’all! VOTE! FIRED UP! READY TO GO!
Remember, the Eclectique Citizen is LIVE BLOGGING tonight from Busboys and Poets in Washington, DC.
The Eclectique Citizen will be LIVE blogging election watchnight from Busboys and Poets at their 14th Street location here in Washington, D.C. from 8 PM until…. No Oktoberfest Sam Adams, Cosmos, or wine, even though I may be just a few feet from the bar. More coffee please with lots of hot milk. I like it that way. The banana bread pudding with the coconut ice cream is the best!
