Early Voting Has Begun (in some states)

Posted on Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Eclectique Citizen

Here are a few resources to get your vote in motion for the 2012 election. Know your options and know the new laws (re Voter ID) before heading to the polls.

For a comprehensive overview of the whole process and what’s at stake, including what to do if you’re getting static (voter intimidation) at the pollsl, your best one-stop-shopping is Election Protection at http://www.866ourvote.org/. You can even check your registration status and where you’re assigned to vote. They also have a 24/7 hotline for voters in English and Spanish – Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE; or email help@866ourvote. App is also available to download.

You can also check the National Association of Secretaries of States schedule for early voting and absentee voting deadlines in the US.

Just to be on the safe side, be sure to bring a photo ID and your voter registration card (if issued in your state). Voter ID requirements are listed on the National Council of State Legislatures website. The information is kept up to date.

Most important, remember Election Day is Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Last chance to vote.

War Horse

And I’m talking about the Tony Award winning play, “War Horse” by Nick Stafford based on the Michael Morpurgo novel. The play’s been around for a bit, but I’m still amazed by this production especially the puppeteering by Handspring Puppet Company of South Africa “War Horse” is currently at the Kennedy Center. The International Horse Show is in Washington, DC too. Beautiful horses.
