"Love Supreme"

My friend Marsha Weiner who introduced me to Slow Food USA (and she’s programmed some of their film festivals) has her own event and programming company, Food Muse Media.

I’m putting a check in the mail to her today for this Thursday’s event Sweet, Savory, and Sustainable, presented by Food Muse Media and Through the Kitchen Door. There will be food, wine, and three short foodie films. These are films about the pleasures and memories of food and food culture (not the usual toxic food fare you see at doc festivals these days).

Here’s the line up for the event:
Culinary Heritage: A LOVE SUPREME– architect Nilesh Patel’s charming homage to his mother and her homemade samosas.

Food, Memory, Love, Loss: WE ARE WHAT WE LOST– gorgeous Serbian short film about the power of food as a one of the ties that bind us to each other.

Farm to Table: EAT AT BILL’S – Lisa Brenneis’ (grower of Pixie Tangerine in Ojai, CA) delightful portrait of an eclectic produce market in Berkeley
